The Street, Residential, Commercial and Trade Directories section contains over twenty CD-ROM's containing well over ten thousand digital images taken from residential directories, street directories, trade directories, commercial directories, etc... spanning the period between 1863 and 1918. Currently the areas covered are Portsmouth and Southampton. Commercial, Residential, Street and Trade directories are included along with contemporary advertisements, local history and information about local organisations and institutons. Residents can be located by surname in the residential directories and the street directories allow the resident of a property to be located by street name and house number, occupations are often included.
