2001, Empty Sky

9/11/2001, Empty Sky: Whilst visiting the Unites States in 2001, I had lunch at the World Trade Center on September 6th. The following day I was fishing from a boat, we were a few miles out and could't see the land, just the top few floors of the towers on the horizon, quite an amazing sight. We used the Towers as a reference point when navigating back towards the shore.
I arrived back in England on September 9th. Like the rest of the world, I saw the disastrous events of the day unfold live on television. Whenever I hear 9/11 mentioned, I recall the events of that day, and I realise, how lucky I was, I could so easily have been there on September 11th. I recently found this photograph, along with a project named "Empty Sky", on The New Jersey 9/11 Memorial Foundation's website,( http://www.nj911memorial.org ) who kindly allowed me to use it.
