1910 Buick Model 17

On September 16th, 1908 General Motors was founded, in Flint, Michigan by William "Billy" Durant, as a holding company for Buick. Prior to this Durant was a leading manufacturer of horse-drawn carriages, also in Flint, Michigan. General Motors acquired Oldsmobile later that year, followed by Cadillac, Elmore, Oakland and and several others. This growth of General Motors continued into the early nineteen eighties when it employed around 350,000 workers and operated 150 assembly plants. The video below is of Barton Close, grandson of Walter Marr, Buicks first chief engineer. Barton Close introduces his 1909 Buick Model 10, complete with the original wheel and reverse pedal.
